Jaguar is recalling 2,929 cars in the U.S. to replace window switches and check hose fittings, according to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
On about 940 2013 XF 2.0 models, the hose fitting for the intercooler on the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine may come loose and cut the engine, power steering and power brakes. Drivers "may hear a loud pop noise as the joint separates," and the engine will not restart, Jaguar said. Dealers will check and tighten the hose connections starting Sept. 27.
In November, Jaguar recalled 4,195 XF sedans from the 2010-2012 model years for gas tanks that could leak fuel.
An additional 1,989 XK convertibles from 2011-2014 have convertible top switches that don't comply with federal regulations regarding power window operation. There is no defect per se, but NHTSA said that since the power windows can be operated from the convertible switch, the windows "may inadvertently be operated" and "pinch or injure an arm or finger." Dealers will replace the overhead switch console with a new design starting Sept. 27.
Owners can call Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.
