As part of showing its support for DC Comics’ We Can Be Heroes campaign to fight hunger in Africa, over the past year or so Kia has whipped up a number of superhero-themed cars and displayed them at auto shows. There was the Batman Optima, The Flash Forte Koup, Aquaman Rio5, Green Lantern Soul, Cyborg Forte five-door, Superman Optima hybrid, and Wonder Woman Sportage—whew! Now, the automaker has revealed the final DC Comics–themed project car, a 2014 Sorento decked out to celebrate the entire Justice League, or all seven of the heroes listed above. The Justice League Sorento is making its big debut, appropriately enough, at the 2013 Comic-Con show in San Diego.
Even though the seven individual hero-themed Kias were a bit, uh, over-styled, this Sorento, which stuffs cues to all seven Justice League members into one visual cacophony, is actually pretty subdued. The exterior gets a pretty badass painted mural on each side, which is neat—even if the treatment seems better suited to a ’70s Dodge panel van. Might we suggest adding an airbrushed representation of Jesus and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson riding a horned cheetah, plus maybe a portal window or two? Anyway, the interior is slightly more segmented than the outside, with each of the Sorento’s seven seats dedicated to a single super-person by way of unique-colored piping and their logos embroidered into each headrest. Tying everything together is a cool, collage-style collection of comic-book scenes pasted onto the center console and door trim.

Overall, the Sorento easily is the coolest and most cleanly modified Kia whipped up to bring attention to DC Comics’ good cause. In fact, we’re willing to say the SUV actually looks pretty darn cool stanced-out on those big, dark-finished wheels. The dudes (and dude-ettes) at Comic-Con should love it.
