The first official images of the 2014 BMW i3 have leaked onto the internet just days before the electric car’s debut. The photos appeared on the Dutch site Autoblog.nl, and appear to show a production-ready silver i3. (To see the full set of images, head over to Autoblog.nl.) As expected, the 2014 i3 looks nearly identical to the i3 Concept Coupe, which itself was a visual evolution of the original i3 concept from 2011.

We’ve already driven an i3 prototype, and we know how much BMW plans to charge customers for its little electric car, but we expect final fuel-economy and technical details to be revealed at the car’s official debut in the coming days. The 2014 BMW i3 goes on sale in the second quarter of next year.
