June 6: Chrysler was founded on this date in 1925

Eighty-eight years ago today -- June 6, 1925 -- Walter P. Chrysler, chairman of Maxwell Motors, reorganized the company's assets and founded Chrysler Corporation. One of those assets was Maxwell's 1924 Chrysler (pictured). The car featured a six-cylinder engine and four-wheel hydraulic brakes, and its 32,000 first-year sales made Chrysler the fastest growing automaker of the 1920s.
