Backfires Brief No. 4: Argue Diesel vs. Hybrid to Win a Set of Tires

Backfires Brief #4

Ah, fall. OK, so it isn’t officially fall yet, but the college football season has started, the weather is cooling off, and the fourth Backfires Brief is now ready for the participation of our Level 4 (and above) members. Are Backfires Briefs a fall tradition? Doesn’t matter; they are now.

For this latest brief, eligible Backfires members must wade into the raging debate as to whether diesel or hybrid technology is superior. Pick a side and argue its merits until the cows come home—just be sure to keep your responses to 35o words or less.

Oh, and while you’re pummeling each other in the fuel-efficiency-argument trenches, know that you’re doing it for a chance to win a sweet prize: a new set of Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 tires courtesy of Hankook Performance Tires*. The winning entry will also be featured in an announcement story on the C/D home page.

More rules: One submission per member, (submit all entries here) and all entries must be in by Friday, September 20. Voting** will begin Saturday, September 21, and be open through the end of the day Sunday, September 29. Once again, your fellow Backfires members (from all levels) will vote to decide who has the best entry. Get cracking!

*Contest open to U.S. residents only. Should the winner have a vehicle that cannot be equipped with Ventus S1 noble2 tires (because of size, load index, or speed rating) we can offer a substitute set of Hankook tires that are a correct fitment. Example: If the winner has a pickup truck, the Ventus S1 noble2 is not the correct fitment for the vehicle. We would offer the winner a set of Dynapro AT-M or Dynapro HT tires which are specifically designed for light trucks.

** To vote you must click the “Thumbs Up” button at the bottom of each post; you may vote for as many submissions as you like, but only once per submission.
